The Paddy Power Irish Karaoke Championships took place throughout Ireland. Sixteen counties participated this year and over 4000 singers took part.
The All Ireland Final was held on June 6th at the Red cow Hotel in Dublin.Out of thirty two of the best male and female singers.
The Irish Champions are Danny Cummins (Dublin) and Rachel Browne (Cork)
They headed to Heinola Finland on July 26th to The Karaoke World Championships 2005 – with an entourage of 30 supporters.
The Competition was held over four nights with 22 countries participating with 64 singers from around the world, including Australia, Japan U.S.A., Thailand, Portugal Estonia, New Zealand, Austria and Lebanon.
With “nail biting” eliminations at the end of every evening our Irish Representatives had made it to the top five, to compete in the World Grand Final.
With spectacular performances from both our representatives, Rachel Browne from Cork emerged as the Female World Karaoke Champion, and Danny Cummins from Dublin as the runner up in 2nd place, of the Male category.
